About this opportunity

The Len Southward Adventure Award is named after Sir Len Southward, a long-term and generous benefactor of the Wellington Paraplegic and Physically Disabled Association. This award supports New Zealand citizens with physical disabilities who have participated in, or intend to participate in, challenging adventure projects. The project should be demanding, requiring applicants to demonstrate tenacity, enthusiasm, and personal drive in pursuing and achieving their goals. Past grants have supported a wide range of activities including skiing courses in Canada, recording experiences of war veterans, art projects, and wildlife photography projects. While primarily intended for individuals, small groups may also be considered eligible if applying for a shared project or goal.
