About this opportunity
The Leonard and Elizabeth Baylinson Musical Scholarship was created to provide scholarships for economically disadvantaged students to pursue an undergraduate degree in music. Leonard Baylinson was a musician during his lifetime and spent over 30 years as the piano player at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver, CO, and was a published composer. Elizabeth Baylinson established this fund at the age of 93 and received a large bequest from a friend. Elizabeth was already financially secure and decided a better use of the funds would be to support young people pursuing their dreams. The scholarship specifically supports students attending the University of Northern Colorado and pursuing music degrees, with preference given to students from Denver Public High Schools and those focusing on vocal or compositional music-based majors.
