About this opportunity
The Leonard Family Anthropology Fellowship supports preliminary research outside the United States for graduate Anthropology students at UW-Milwaukee, with preference given to PhD-track students. The fellowship provides up to $5,000 to support research activities conducted internationally. Recipients are required to submit a major external grant proposal (such as NSF or Wenner-Gren) by January 15 of the following year. Failure to submit this required proposal will make the recipient ineligible for future departmental fellowships, though exceptions may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This fellowship is designed to help graduate students conduct preliminary fieldwork and research that will position them for larger external funding opportunities.
