About This Opportunity

The Leonard Foundation provides scholarships to students with demonstrated financial need pursuing their first undergraduate degree at accredited Canadian colleges and universities. Established by Colonel Reuben Wells Leonard, the foundation supports students who would not otherwise be able to obtain a degree. The scholarships are designed to help students from families with limited financial resources, particularly those with gross annual income (including in-kind benefits) not exceeding $60,000. Recipients are expected to demonstrate potential for leadership, maintain regular participation in athletic, fitness, or military activities, and seek employment during free time to help defray educational costs. The foundation is committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all students can be their authentic selves and experience equitable opportunities throughout the application process. Preference may be given to children of ordained clergy, licensed teachers, Canadian military personnel, graduates of Canadian Military Colleges, and members of the Engineering Institute of Canada or Mining and Metallurgical Institute of Canada.
