About this opportunity
The LION Scholarship is awarded by the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) to non-Dutch nationals pursuing a Master's degree in Physics at Leiden University. The scholarship is funded by the Den Adel Fund for Experimental Physics and the Lorentz Fund for Theoretical Physics. Approximately 10% of admitted candidates are awarded a scholarship based on academic merit.
The scholarship provides €6,000 per year and is awarded for one year, renewable for a second year subject to satisfactory performance (60 EC with a GPA above 8 in the first year). Recipients must still pay Leiden University tuition fees and may need to provide proof of sufficient funds for visa/residence permit applications if they are non-EEA nationals.
Applicants must apply for admission to the MSc program in Physics at Leiden University and explicitly mention the fellowship application in their motivation letter. Two letters of reference supporting the fellowship application are required. The scholarship emphasizes academic merit and is intended to support outstanding international students pursuing graduate studies in physics.
