About This Opportunity
This scholarship was established by a generous gift from Alumni and friends in honour of Professor Lionel Butler, in order to support students of Medieval History in their studies at St Andrews. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The award provides £4,400 per year paid as maintenance support and can be used towards University accommodation fees. Selection is based on financial need and donor-specific criteria. The scholarship is available to undergraduate students studying Medieval History who are from Scotland or the rest of the UK.
