About this opportunity
This CASE PhD studentship, partnering with the Women of the World (WOW) Foundation, aims to examine the nature and potential of microfeminist acts of resistance in digital environments and in everyday settings like homes, workplaces, and in public spaces. Working closely with WOW Foundation networks, this research will delineate the empirical and conceptual nature of microfeminism and assess its relevance and potential in different cultural and country contexts.
The research develops both empirical and conceptual aspects of microfeminism among partners and establishes a strong pathway to impact in terms of fostering awareness of microfeminism and engendering change in gender inequalities. This collaborative project connects with global feminist networks and communities focused on creating a gender equal world.
The studentship is offered through the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS DTP) and focuses on human geography, international development, and gender studies. Funding covers full UK tuition fees, a stipend at the UKRI rate, and additional research training and support grants including funding for overseas fieldwork, language training, institutional visits, and placement-related expenses.
