The subsidy is calculated based on a rate per credit point (study point) that the nurse plans to complete during the calendar year. For 2026, the rate is NOK 3,800 per credit point. For example, an employee planning to take 30 credit points in 2026 would receive NOK 114,000 in subsidy. Municipalities apply on behalf of their employed nurses who are pursuing this specialized nursing education. The scheme aims to support workforce development in municipal health services by enabling nurses to obtain specialized public health nursing qualifications while continuing their employment.
