About This Opportunity
The Long & McQuade Award of Excellence is granted annually to a graduating student who has demonstrated excellence in their music program at the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes outstanding achievement in music studies and is presented at convocation. The award was established in July 2022 by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, a family-owned Canadian company that has been serving musicians since 1956. Long & McQuade began as a small store on Carlton Street in Toronto and has grown to over 90 stores across Canada, employing over 1,600 musicians and contracting around 1,000 music teachers. The company remains 100% owned by the Long family and established this award to recognize excellence in music at UPEI.
