Looker Energy Environmental Fund

The Looker Energy Environmental Fund makes grants to projects and individuals focused on environmental conservation and education in Godmanchester. For organizations, the fund supports projects that promote the conservation, protection, and improvement of the physical and natural environment, including action designed to mitigate the effects of climate change, in the civil parish of Godmanchester and in Portholme. The fund also advances the education of the public living, working, and studying in Godmanchester about environmental conservation and climate change mitigation. For individuals residing in the area, educational grants are available to assist in the study or research of environmental conservation and protection, especially with respect to mitigating the effects of climate change. The fund is supported by Looker Energy, which owns and operates a 500kW capacity wind turbine near Godmanchester that has been generating renewable electricity since September 2015. Looker Energy makes an annual contribution to the fund directly related to the amount of renewable energy produced.
