Lora (Bacon) Mellemstrand Undergraduate Leadership Bar None Award

The Lora (Bacon) Mellemstrand Undergraduate Leadership Bar None Award is awarded to a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with satisfactory academic standing entering the third or fourth year of a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology with a major in Clothing, Textiles and Material Culture at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on demonstrated leadership through involvement in extracurricular and community activities. Preference is given to students with demonstrated volunteerism in textiles collections or demonstrated interest in textile arts. The award was endowed by Leighton Mellemstrand (Ag '62) in honor of his wife Lora Bacon Mellemstrand (HE '61). Students are eligible to receive only one Bar None Award or Scholarship in any given academic year. Applicants are automatically considered based on their completed General Application.
