Scholarship Residency

Lorna Walker UHStAGA Scholarship

University of St Andrews Original Source

About This Opportunity

This scholarship is generously provided by the Association for graduates of University Hall (UHStAGA). This award enables an international student on a one-year Masters postgraduate course to reside at University Hall for two semesters of study. The scholarship covers the cost of accommodation and meals at University Hall for two semesters and a room only in university-provided accommodation during the summer research and writing-up period of study. The successful candidate will be required to reside in University Hall during term time and to take an interest in the life of the Hall. Historically this award was directed towards promoting female scholarship and international understanding, and the Graduate Association hopes that recipients will put the knowledge and experience gained in St Andrews to full use upon their return home, and thus contribute to the development of their own country and to the role and status of women there. Preference is given to students from a low income country. The scholarship does not cover tuition fees, nor will it make any allowance for meals during the vacations, for travel, health insurance or any other incidental expenses.
