Lou and Mary Kay Hencken Scholarship

The Lou and Mary Kay Hencken Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship opportunity for students at Eastern Illinois University pursuing secondary teacher certification, with a preference for those majoring in Career and Technical Education (CTE). The scholarship supports full-time students at the sophomore level or higher who reside in specific Illinois counties and live in University Housing. Recipients must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and may reapply in subsequent years if they continue to meet all eligibility criteria. The scholarship is announced in the Spring semester and disbursed in the Fall semester. An exception to the housing requirement is made for students who are student teaching during the semester of the award.
