About This Opportunity

To be awarded annually to students with satisfactory academic standing (on a minimum of 24 credits) registered in the second last year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Alberta. Recipients will be selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership through involvement and participation in university or community organizations, sports activities, cultural or political activities and academic standing. This award is renewable for a second year contingent upon the recipient achieving satisfactory academic standing on a minimum of 24 credits taken during the first year of the award. The award was established in 1986 in recognition of Lou Hyndman's public service to the Province. Valued at $20,000 over two years, the award recognizes exceptional leadership qualities and community service. Eligible fields of study include Anthropology, Business, Canadian Studies, Economics, Education, Geography, History, Law, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology or Women & Gender Studies.
