Louie Family Award in Medicine

The Louie Family Award in Medicine is awarded to students with satisfactory academic standing who are convocating with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Selection is based on outstanding clinical skills in the chosen field of study, demonstrated excellence in communication with patients and their families, and academic standing in Family Medicine, Surgery, or Internal Medicine. Preference is given to first generation University students whose parents immigrated to Canada or who were immigrants themselves. This endowed award was established by members of the Louie family in honour of Gar Shek and Abe Louie.
