Lucile Cornetet Scholarship Fund

The Lucile Cornetet Scholarship Fund honors Miss Cornetet, a retired Columbus Public Schools teacher who taught for 39 years, including 34 years as a Latin teacher. This scholarship is designed to support Columbus Public School graduating seniors and graduates who have studied Latin in their pursuit of higher education. The scholarship reflects Miss Cornetet's lifelong dedication to education and classical languages, specifically supporting students who have completed at least two years of Latin coursework. Candidates must demonstrate both academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need. Awards begin at a minimum of $500 and are available to students attending any public or nonprofit independent college or university in the United States. The scholarship seeks to recognize students who possess academic potential and good character, continuing Miss Cornetet's legacy of supporting Latin education and student success.
