About This Opportunity

The Novo Nordisk Foundation and the Lundbeck Foundation have launched the Body-Brain Interdisciplinary Projects initiative to enhance mechanistic understanding of body-brain interactions in health and disease. This program supports collaborative European research projects that investigate the complex interactions between cardiometabolic diseases and nervous system disorders. The initiative aims to address critical knowledge gaps through interdisciplinary collaboration spanning neuroscientific and cardiometabolic research fields. Strong proposals will bridge different research disciplines including neuroscience, metabolism, endocrinology, physiology, neurology, psychiatry, medicine, epidemiology, immunology, and nutrition, with a unifying aim of improving mechanistic understanding of body-brain interactions. The program expects to award 5-6 grants of DKK 15-20 million each for five-year projects. Applications must involve 2-3 independent researchers with at least one anchored at a Danish institution and at least one at a non-Danish European institution.
