About this opportunity
The LW Nelson Agricultural Scholarship was established in 1958 by Northland farmer and businessman Laurence William Nelson. The Scholarship is managed and administered by Public Trust and is offered to students who have career aspirations in the agricultural industry and are studying at an appropriate tertiary provider for a minimum period of three years.
Applications are open to students attending specific secondary schools in the Whangarei region of New Zealand, including Kamo High School, Pompalier College, Tikipunga High School, Whangarei Boys' High School, Whangarei Girls' High School, Huanui College, and Excellere College. All Scholarships are conditional on the applicant being enrolled at the education provider in a course of study as outlined in the application.
Successful applicants will be required to request scholarship continuation for year 2 and year 3 studies. Applications open annually from 15 September to 31 October, though this timeframe may change from time to time.
