About this opportunity
The MacLeod-Matheson Bursary was established by Cape Breton University alumni Keith MacLeod and Gail Matheson, who graduated from the Engineering Technology program. These non-renewable awards are designed to support Island students with their education, allowing them to focus on their studies and lessen financial concerns. The bursary is targeted to students not solely based on academic achievements but also on financial need and community involvement. Awards are available for both entrance students (18-36 awards) in their first year of full-time studies and in-course students (2-4 awards). Entrance awards are valued at $5,000 while in-course awards range from $2,500 to $5,000. While all applications will be considered, preference is given to students studying in STEM and/or business programs, and to students with an entering average of 90% or less from high school. Recipients must be graduates from Cape Breton high schools and demonstrate financial need.
