Macmillan Brown Agricultural Research Scholarship

The Macmillan Brown Agricultural Research Scholarship is a doctoral scholarship offered by Massey University for graduates pursuing PhD research in agriculture or horticulture. Named after John Macmillan Brown, who was born in Scotland in 1845 and served as Professor of Classics and English at Canterbury College, Vice-Chancellor of the University of New Zealand from 1916 to 1923, and Chancellor from 1923 until his death in 1935. The scholarship provides financial support for one year to full-time PhD students who are Massey University graduates and New Zealand citizens. Multiple awards are available each year, with each scholarship valued at approximately $3,000. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement and may also be evaluated on other scholarships or bursaries they hold.
