Malthus Classics Scholarship

The Malthus Classics Scholarship was established to encourage students to continue their studies in Classics at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is open to full-time students majoring in Classical Studies, Latin, or Greek who intend to enrol in their second or third year of an undergraduate degree, or in the first year of an Honours degree in these subjects. Recipients are chosen on the basis of academic merit and their passion for the subject, with financial hardship taken into secondary consideration. The scholarship is valued at up to $5,000 and is paid towards the recipient's tuition fees. Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply. Students receiving this award are asked to write a letter of thanks to the donor at the outset of their scholarship and to share an essay they have produced during the tenure of the scholarship at the end of the year.
