About this opportunity
The Manulife Life Lessons Scholarship Program is designed to help students aged 17 to 24 who have lost a parent or legal guardian with little to no life insurance to pursue their post-secondary education. The program recognizes the incredible bravery and determination required to pursue higher education in the face of adversity and financial hardship. Each scholarship of $10,000 is awarded to help combat the financial burden of paying for post-secondary education during an emotional time and acknowledges the perseverance that many youth demonstrate following such loss. The scholarship recipients are selected based on the compelling nature of their story, how instructive their experience is regarding the need for proper insurance planning, and their determination to pursue higher education despite their loss.
