About This Opportunity

The Mardi & John Scholarship supports domestic undergraduate school-leavers from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds enrolling in a course of study at the Australian National University. This access scholarship provides a stipend of $8,000 per annum paid in equal instalments at the beginning of each semester for up to 5 years. Funding for this award has been provided by Mark Dickens as part of the ANU Support Australia's Students Campaign. The scholarship is designed to support Indigenous students who are current school leavers in Australia applying for admission to university for the first time. Recipients must be Australian citizens of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who identify as such and are accepted by the community in which they live or formerly lived. The scholarship requires an ANU selection rank of less than 90.00 (no bonus points) and continuation is based on academic performance.
