About This Opportunity
The Margaret Herring Memorial Nursing Award is a $500 award given to third or fourth year nursing students at the University of Prince Edward Island. This award recognizes students who are residents of Prince Edward Island, demonstrate academic and clinical excellence, and are enrolled full-time in the BSc Nursing Program. Margaret C. Herring, RN BN, of Charlottetown, formerly of Murray River, was a strong advocate of education in general and the profession of nursing in particular. Margaret passed away in December 2013, leaving a generous gift to UPEI to establish an award in her memory. The award honors her commitment to advancing nursing education and supporting the development of future nursing professionals on Prince Edward Island.
