About this opportunity
This scholarship was established through the generosity of Margaret Nielsen, who retired from the University's School of Music staff in 1995. The purpose of this scholarship is to assist first year BMus students majoring in Classical Musical Performance at the New Zealand School of Music, Victoria University of Wellington. Selection is based on musical ability and financial need, with preference potentially given to a student studying a particular instrument or instruments nominated by the Head of School. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students experiencing financial hardship while pursuing their studies in Classical Musical Performance. Recipients are expected to demonstrate engagement and contribute to the community and environment of the New Zealand School of Music, including participation in ensembles, presentations, or performances at NZSM or university events.
