Margaret Richards Bursary

The Margaret Richards Bursary is a memorial scholarship established in 1975 in honor of Margaret Richards, a member of Massey University staff from 1960 to 1975. This bursary supports students who are studying or want to study English at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The scholarship is available for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts (English), Bachelor of Communication (Expressive Arts), or a postgraduate qualification with a focus on English. The bursary is awarded based on financial need and academic achievement, with high achievement being a key requirement. Recipients must demonstrate current financial need through a supporting statement and budget outlining annual expenses and predicted earnings. The award is open to both full-time and part-time students, including distance learners. The bursary may not be granted each and every year, and the selection committee may also consider other scholarships or bursaries held by applicants when making their decision.
