Maria Björnson Memorial Fund

The Maria Björnson Memorial Fund was established in memory of Maria Björnson, a brilliant theatre, ballet and opera designer who died suddenly in 2002 at the age of 53. She was renowned for her work with major theatre companies including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, the Royal Opera, the Royal Ballet, and many others. Her most famous design was for Phantom of the Opera, for which she received multiple prestigious awards. The Fund supports artistic enterprises, arts-related activities and individual artists working in theatre design and related performing arts fields.
