About this opportunity
This scholarship is funded by a generous donation from Maria Teresa Savio Hooke to support a PhD student who is undertaking research in the area of Italian Studies. The scholarship provides either a stipend allowance or tuition fee support for doctoral students enrolled in the School of Languages and Cultures at the University of Sydney. Preference will be given to applicants undertaking research in the areas of the culture of Renaissance Italy which may advance the understanding of contemporary societies. The successful applicant will be selected based on academic merit, area of study and/or research proposal, and a personal statement addressing the impact the scholarship will have on their research. Domestic students receive a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate, while international students receive academic course fee coverage for the duration of their PhD studies up to 3.5 years.
