About This Opportunity
Awarded annually to the student who demonstrates outstanding bedside manner coupled with knowledge and skill in clinical practice during Nursing 310 (Integrated Clinical Experience). The Marina MacDonald Memorial Bursary was established at the University of Prince Edward Island in 1993 by G. Dunstan MacDonald in memory of his wife Marina. Marina was a kind, fun-loving person who embodied the qualities which made her a wonderful nurse: care, hospitality, and compassion. After graduating from the Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing in 1956, Marina worked as a staff nurse on medical units both at the Charlottetown Hospital and later at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital until 1985. In 2017, Dunstan MacDonald made a leadership gift to endow this award.
