About this opportunity
The Mario Hernandez Scholarship supports students pursuing an Associate of Arts Degree in Teaching at Tarrant County College. This scholarship is provided by Tarrant County College Faculty and Staff and Friends and Family of Mario Hernandez to help first-generation college students achieve their educational goals. The scholarship gives preference to single heads of household with dependent children who are working to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. Recipients must maintain enrollment in at least 9 credit hours and demonstrate financial need according to federal or state guidelines. The scholarship is renewable for the spring semester if the recipient maintains a minimum 2.75 GPA and completes at least 9 credit hours in the fall semester.
