About This Opportunity

The Marion Fletcher Fashion and Textiles Scholarship is available to Australian citizens and permanent residents commencing full-time study in the Bachelor of Fashion (Design) at RMIT University. This scholarship provides financial support up to $8,000 per year for three years during the standard program duration. If graduates immediately progress into the one-year Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours) program, the scholarship continues for the honours year. The scholarship is made possible by a generous bequest from the Marion Fletcher family. Marion Fletcher was a distinguished designer, teacher, historian and curator who joined RMIT's School of Applied Art in 1950 and maintained a career combining practice, theory, innovation and excellence in textile design and fashion education. Applicants must demonstrate circumstances impacting their ability to study, such as receiving government low-income benefits, living with a disability, experiencing personal difficulties, being from rural/regional areas, or being from under-represented backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, refugees, or those from non-English speaking backgrounds.
