Marjorie Coote Animal Charity Trust

The Marjorie Coote Animal Charity Trust was established by Marjorie Wike Coote in 1954 to support charitable organisations dedicated to the care and protection of horses, dogs, and other animals or birds. The Trust provides grants to UK-registered charities working in animal welfare, with a focus on research into animal health problems, species protection, and general animal welfare. The Trustees prioritize applications from charities with active re-homing and rehabilitation policies for rescued animals, organizations involved in wildlife conservation, and those working on the direct protection of endangered species. All supported charities must be registered in the UK with up to date independently examined accounts. The Trust does not provide grants to individuals and does not prioritize charities that import animals, lack realistic destruction policies for animals without reasonable quality of life, or spend disproportionate amounts on administration. Applications are accepted only during the month of September each year and are reviewed at the Annual Meeting of the Trustees.
