About This Opportunity

The Marsden Building Society Charitable Foundation provides grants to support community organisations in Lancashire each year. Marsden Building Society was founded in 1860 and has grown to become the largest Lancashire-based building society, placing community at the heart of what they do. The foundation's endowment fund is managed by the Community Foundation for Lancashire and supports projects aligned with three key priorities: Financial Well-Being, A Society for All, and A Great Place to Be. The fund prioritizes projects that promote financial education and money management skills, support social inclusion particularly for people over 50 through community cohesion activities, and make Lancashire a great place to be through environmental and area restoration initiatives. This can include beach cleans, community allotments, green initiatives like solar panels, preserving buildings and wildlife, and other community improvement projects. Funding is available for organisations permanently based in Lancashire, with priority given to those in Burnley, Barrowford/Colne/Nelson, Clitheroe, Lytham, and Poulton/Garstang. The Society aims to provide either full funding of projects or at least 50% where other funding has already been secured. Eligible costs include staffing, volunteer expenses, activity/operational costs, training, small capital items like equipment and IT, and a proportion of organizational overheads.
