About this opportunity
The Martha Best / Martine Meyer Scholarship is awarded annually to select undergraduate students who are enrolled in French coursework at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The scholarship recognizes students based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need as shown by the FAFSA. Recipients must be full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students who are enrolled in French courses both when applying and during the scholarship period.
Preference is given to students who intend to become French teachers. Applicants who plan to pursue teaching careers are encouraged to include information about their teaching aspirations in their application. The scholarship is flexible in its use and may be applied toward the cost of study abroad programs, including summer study abroad opportunities.
Awards are given in the spring for the following academic year, with amounts varying up to $3,000. Students must maintain enrollment in French courses throughout the scholarship period and demonstrate both academic merit and financial need to qualify for this opportunity.
