About this opportunity
The Martha McSally Dare to Fly Scholarship was created by Air Force Colonel (retired) and former U.S. Senator Martha McSally to help Arizonans achieve their potential through their education. McSally overcame trauma and adversity to become the first woman in U.S. history to fly a fighter jet in combat and command a fighter squadron in combat. The scholarship is geared to support men and women who have overcome adversity, demonstrated courage, developed a growth mindset, and have ambitious dreams to do something meaningful in their lives. Applicants need not desire to be a pilot, but should desire to 'fly' in their life. The scholarship is open to Arizona residents pursuing vocational or undergraduate education with a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship is merit-based and seeks to support students who have demonstrated resilience and courage in overcoming life challenges.
