About This Opportunity

One or more awards are given to undergraduate or graduate students in the School of Music who are travelling to Italy to broaden their knowledge of western classical music. This activity may include, but is not limited to, travel, accommodation, admission fees, archival research, galleries, language training, and/or participation in exhibitions, courses, performances, workshops, conferences or presentations. Preference is for students using the funding to directly support travel costs. The minimum requirement for consideration is normally an A- average and any additional criteria that has been established by the donor. Awards are assigned based on nominations from eligible academic units. Graduate students must submit an application to the School of Music Office by September 15. Applicants must include a brief description (50-100 words) of their reason for travel. Approval of recipients is made by either the Senate Committee on Awards or the Faculty of Graduate Studies Graduate Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the School of Music.
