About this opportunity
The Mary A. Maher Scholarship honors the founding Dean of the Elaine Marieb College of Nursing, Mary A. Maher, who was instrumental in establishing the school in 1953. She initiated both the first nursing baccalaureate program and the first graduate program in the public education system in Massachusetts. This scholarship provides financial support to nursing students who demonstrate academic achievement, good citizenship, evidence of good physical and mental health, initiative, self-direction, and financial need. The scholarship recognizes students pursuing their undergraduate nursing education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
