About this opportunity
The Mary Dailey Irvine (MDI) Prize, established by the Irvine Family in memory of Mary Dailey Irvine (Smith College, Class of 1922), exists to encourage and honor excellent undergraduate research in astronomy and astrophysics. The prize is awarded to a graduating senior from one of the Five College institutions for an outstanding senior thesis or research paper on an astronomical or astrophysical topic that is presented to the Five College Astronomy Department. To be eligible, students need to present at the FCAD event and submit their written document a week in advance. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional undergraduate achievement in astronomical research and provides financial support to the winning student. The prize is administered through the Five College Astronomy Department and reflects the legacy of Mary Dailey Irvine's commitment to academic excellence.
