About this opportunity
The Mary Fran Carroll Traditional Scholarship is a merit-based and need-based scholarship for high school seniors and recent graduates from Sarasota County, Florida. The scholarship provides $4,500 annually for tuition, books, and fees (housing and living expenses are not eligible). The scholarship may be renewed annually for up to five years, totaling $22,500 for undergraduate studies, for students who maintain a minimum 3.2 GPA. Applicants must be residents of Sarasota County and graduates from Catholic, private, or public high schools in the county within the last two years. Recipients must attend an accredited college or university and pursue a course of study leading to a particular career with a clearly articulated career plan. The scholarship emphasizes academic performance, community service, and financial need as demonstrated through FAFSA. An optional letter of recommendation from a pastor or spiritual leader may be submitted. Members or relatives of the Catholic Community Foundation staff, Board of Directors, or Scholarship Committee are ineligible to apply.
