Mary Greville and Bert Coughtrey Scholarship for Pianists

About this opportunity

This scholarship provides travel support for students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music who wish to study piano overseas. The scholarship was established in 2020 from a gift by AEJ Coughtrey to provide assistance to talented pianists pursuing international study opportunities. Recipients are selected based on their performance of four contrasting works representing different musical periods, presented within 40-60 minutes. The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and paid as a one-off payment upon confirmation of overseas travel. Recipients must travel overseas to study piano within 12 months of receiving the scholarship.
