About this opportunity
Mary MacKillop believed in the power of education to transform lives. In her legacy the Sisters of Saint Joseph have continued to empower individuals and communities by providing access to education. Since 1998 tertiary scholarships for the First Nation Peoples of the lands in which we live have addressed the financial barriers faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and supported them to access and achieve their academic goals. This scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from rural or regional locations who are enrolled full-time at Deakin University in a Bachelor degree or postgraduate by coursework degree. The scholarship provides $17,500 over four years to help overcome financial barriers to tertiary education. Preference is given to undergraduate students facing hardship who are not receiving additional scholarships and are pursuing their first tertiary qualification.
