About this opportunity
The Marylou Hughes Paramedicine Award is granted to a student in their final year of the BSc Paramedicine program at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award recognizes academic excellence and financial need, supporting students who have maintained an average of 80% or greater in the previous year of study and demonstrate the greatest financial need. This award was established in fall 2017 by Marylou Hughes, a distinguished UPEI alumna who was the first mature student to graduate from UPEI with a B.Sc. and went on to a career in Audiology. Marylou has been an active volunteer and supporter of UPEI for many years, serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and the UPEI Senate. Her generous contribution establishes this award to support students in UPEI's Paramedicine program, continuing her legacy of giving back to her alma mater.
