Marylou Hughes Scholarship

The Marylou Hughes Scholarship is awarded to full-time graduating students in good academic standing who have demonstrated aptitude in their chosen field of study and have been accepted into an accredited professional school or graduate program. The scholarship prioritizes students entering programs in the following order: Audiology, Medicine, or research in the medical field. This scholarship was established by Marylou Hughes, an active alumna, volunteer, and donor at the University of Prince Edward Island. Marylou was one of the first mature females to graduate from UPEI with a B.Sc., maintaining her status on the Dean's list while serving as a leader and mentor. She went on to a profession in Audiology and continues to contribute to the Island community through research and clinical practice devoted to hearing disorders, assessment, hearing conservation, and aural rehabilitation. The scholarship reflects her consistent spirit of giving and commitment to supporting students pursuing healthcare and medical research careers.
