Massey University Elite Sports Scholarships

The Massey University Elite Sports Scholarships are designed to support student athletes who are training and competing at regional, national, or international level. These scholarships are primarily aimed at members of the Massey Academy of Sport from their second year onwards, although non-Academy athletes are also welcome to apply. Each scholarship is valued at $2,500 for one year. The Massey University Academy of Sport provides a structured academic and performance support programme for high-achieving athletes, including physical conditioning, nutrition, sports psychology, gym memberships, group topical seminars, and training gear. Academic support includes one-on-one staff support, assistance with time management and academic planning, career advice, and assistance with scheduling conflicts. Up to ten scholarships are available annually to support student athletes who have successfully completed, or are currently completing, at least one year of undergraduate degree study at Massey University. Recipients are selected based on sporting achievements and potential, references from sporting organisations or coaches, and for current Academy of Sport members, engagement with the programme. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents and demonstrate sporting achievement at a high level. The scholarship provides financial support alongside access to the specialised services of the Massey Academy of Sport.
