About This Opportunity

The Massey University Postgraduate Scholarship (formerly the Sir Alan Stewart Postgraduate Scholarship) supports high achieving graduates of New Zealand tertiary education degree programmes enrolling in postgraduate coursework in any discipline at Massey University. This application round supports students studying in semester two. The scholarship was developed from an ambition for Massey University postgraduate students to shape the future of New Zealand. Named in honour of Sir Alan Stewart KBE, the founding vice-chancellor of Massey University from 1964 to 1983, who guided the institution's transition from an agricultural college to full university. Sir Alan is noted for building the university's internationally recognised agricultural programme and for greatly expanding the university's distance programme to make tertiary education available to rural New Zealanders. There are two selection rounds annually, closing at the start of semester 1 and semester 2. Prior recipients are welcome to reapply, and both part-time and full-time applicants are eligible. Selection is based on academic achievements in New Zealand based tertiary study record, with consideration normally given to study with an A- GPA or better.
