About this opportunity
The Matilda "Tildy" MacMillan Good Mentorship is awarded to a deserving third or fourth year student who demonstrates a strong interest in historical/archival material and in creative and innovative use of technology in the storage and retrieval of such material. This mentorship was established through a bequest to the University of Prince Edward Island by Ruby Matheson in honor of her sister, Matilda "Tildy" MacMillan Good. Ruby Matheson was an educator, author, artist, and community leader who dedicated her life to preserving Prince Edward Island's heritage. The mentorship reflects Ruby's passion for preservation of heritage and supports IslandArchives.ca, a digitization initiative that ensures Prince Edward Island's rich heritage is stewarded and preserved in perpetuity. Ruby received an honorary doctorate degree from UPEI in 2003 in recognition of her outstanding service to community and preservation of heritage.
