Matthew John Getty Scholarship Fund

The Getty family created the Matthew John Getty Scholarship Fund at The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County in memory of Matthew John Getty, a graduate of Franklin Regional High School and collegiate football player at the University of Pittsburgh. The scholarship honors Matthew by providing annual financial support for one male and one female graduate of Franklin Regional High School each year to offset costs of pursuing higher education. Candidates must have participated in at least one high school sport, have above average grades, and exhibit financial need. This single-year scholarship award provides approximately $1,000 to support students transitioning to accredited vocational, technical trade schools, or 2- or 4-year colleges or universities.
