About this opportunity
The Matthew T. Williams Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by the family of First Lieutenant Matthew T. Williams to honor his memory and legacy. Matthew T. Williams graduated from Minerva High School in Ohio and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he finished first in his class and earned the John Levitow Award, the highest honor bestowed during Airman Leadership School. He completed his Associates of Applied Science in Electronic Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
After acceptance to the Airman Education and Commissioning Program in 1999, Matt attended The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude. He received the 2001-2002 Everett Student of the Year Award from the OSU Electrical Engineering Department. While at OSU, Matt was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2006. This scholarship supports undergraduate students who demonstrate academic excellence and work ethic in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to students who are pursuing their education while balancing part-time employment, reflecting Matthew's dedication to service, academic achievement, and hard work. Recipients must maintain strong academic performance with a minimum 2.8 GPA and be enrolled in the College of Engineering at The Ohio State University.
