About this opportunity
The Maureen Flanagan Fund provides scholarships for undergraduate students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst who have demonstrated financial need at the highest need category as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Preference is given to women from Massachusetts. The scholarships offer students opportunities above and beyond the standard college experience such as study abroad, research, summer internships, alternative spring breaks, community service, or other initiatives that complement and enhance the chosen course of study of the students selected. The fund was established by Dr. Maureen Flanagan, Class of 1966, to support students in pursuing enrichment experiences that complement their academic goals. The number of awards may vary each year depending upon the annual distribution and the cost of attending UMass Amherst. Applicants must submit a one-page proposal describing the initiative or activity, explaining how it complements their studies or career goals, and including a budget with actual or estimated costs.
