About this opportunity
The McAllaster Honors Scholarship is awarded to students participating in Greenville University's honors program, named after longtime GU Professor of English Elva McAllaster. The program provides an intimate learning community with rich academic, social, and spiritual experiences. Mac scholars take intensive humanities courses, receive one-on-one instruction with professors, and complete a departmental honors thesis project. The scholarship provides $4,000 annually to students who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete 21 hours of honors coursework. Students participate in unique opportunities including an induction ceremony, monthly meetings with other Mac scholars, yearly events with leadership scholars, the McAllaster Lecture with renowned scholars, and receptions where graduating scholars present their work. The program is limited to thirty students per year and requires campus residency.
